Skunk Anansie was formed in 1994 and quickly captured the attention of music fans with their unique blend of alternative rock, punk, and metal, as well as provocative song themes delivered by their charismatic frontwoman, Skin. They became one of the most talked-about bands of their time, rapidly achieving global success. Skin has described the band’s sound as “clit-rock,” while AllMusic characterizes it as an amalgam of heavy metal and Black feminist rage.

With albums like “Paranoid & Sunburnt,” “Stoosh,” “Post Orgasmic Chill,” and “25LIVE@25,” along with hits such as “Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good),” “Selling Jesus,” “Twisted (Everyday Hurts),” and “Weak,” Skunk Anansie has sold millions of records worldwide. In 1999, they headlined Glastonbury Festival.

After an unexpected hiatus in the early 2000s, the band made a triumphant return in 2009, releasing new music and resuming an active touring schedule. In January 2025, Skunk Anansie released their latest single, “An Artist Is An Artist,” and are currently working on new material—some of which might make its way into their Riga setlist. Of course, fans can also expect to hear their biggest hits.

Regarding the tour, vocalist Skin says, “We are really excited to get getting back on tour, doing what we love the most which is playing live with fire in our belly.”
